Briancon

Briancon is the highest city in Europe and claims an amazing 300 days sunshine a year. All our accommodation is in renovated old houses in the historic ‘Ville Vauban’. This walled city dominates the rest of the town and many bars, shops and restaurants await your discovery in its narrow cobbled streets.

In winter a bus leaves the old town regularly to the Prorel télécabine. This gives you fast access to the Grande Serre Chevalier ski area with queues which are normally far shorter than those you can expect at Chantemerle

We have 3 different appartements/ gites

Rue commandant Carlihan
6/8pers

Avenue Vauban ( 10/14 pers)

Situated on the walls of the old town of Briancon, this renovated eighteenth century townhouse provides great accommodation for groups. The Ville Vauban is not only picturesque with its norrow cobbled streets and historic buildings but is packed with bars and restaurants, so the evenings entertainment is only a couple of minutes walk away.  The view from the house is of the Prorel ski-pistes and telecabine (10 minutes walk away), and up the Guisane valley towards the Col du Lauteret and Galibier. The telecabine gives you fast access to the Grande Serre Chevalier ski area with queues which are normally much less than those you can expect at Chantlemerle.

There are seven bedrooms (most have a single and a double bed), two of which have en-suite showers. There are also two shower rooms, one bathroom and a separate wc. The kitchen is well equipped to cook for this number of people and has a range as well as a large gas cooker. There is also a fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The washing machine is in one of the shower rooms. A gas barbeque is situated on a covered terrace which opens off the dining room. The top of the house is taken up by an open plan split level sitting area. The back entrance gives ample space for kit (as well as a kitchenette) and boats and bikes can be stored in the cellar.
